I read the following article in The New York Times today, and starting in May, ABC will allow you to view some of their shows online. It'll be a free service, but there will be commercials and you can't fast forward past them. Still, I think this could be really big in the near future.

I must confess that I watch some of my favorite shows (including ABC's "Desperate Housewives") by downloading them online, using BitTorrent. I'm excited at this new development.
