Proverbs state that the wise person can be identified by the use of his tongue. Constructive use of words build people up, cheer the boken-hearted, and give wise and timely counsel.
Proverbs 12:14, 18:7, 13:3, 12:22, 15:14,15:23, 15:4, 24:28, 26:24-25, 26:28, 5:2 etc are important. We see that wisdom in speech requires heeding biblical mandates to seek the best interest of others. This requires the disciplines and guarding of our words.
Then truly our speech becomes edifying and meaningful to others. Then words are the seeds of creation and powerful indeed. Genesis 1. 'And God said "let there be light" and there was light'.; 2:46 PM
